This Privacy Policy explains how VoltedLife (operated by Kik Rox LLC) ("VoltedLife," "we," "us") handles information in our mobile apps (Connect the Dots and Quiet Salah) and on our website, voltedlife.com. Some apps and features listed here are not yet released. This policy describes how they work at release.
Summary
- We do not sell or share personal information. We don't show ads, we don't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Local first. Both apps work without an account and keep your data on your device by default.
- Connect the Dots sends your data to our cloud provider only if you choose to sign in and sync.
- Quiet Salah does not send your location to us or anyone else. There is no account and no server.
- You can delete your data at any time (details below).
1. Connect the Dots
Connect the Dots is a private, reflective timeline app. You create journeys and add "moments," each with a title, a date, an optional age, a description, a feeling you choose from a built-in scale, and optional photos and videos.
1.1 Using Connect the Dots without an account (the default)
Your journeys, moments and attached photos and videos are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. We do not receive any of it. Deleting the app, or clearing its storage, removes it from that device.
1.2 Optional account and sync
You can sign in from the Account screen to sync your journeys across your devices. Sign-in is offered with Sign in with Apple. (If we offer email sign-in with a one-time code in the future, it will collect only your email address, for sign-in.)
What Sign in with Apple provides to us. Connect the Dots asks Apple for your email address only. It does not request your name. If you choose Apple's "Hide My Email," we receive a private relay address (ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com) instead of your real email. We also receive a unique, app-specific account identifier from Apple. Apple verifies your identity. We never see your Apple ID password.
What we store when you are signed in:
- Account information: your email address (or Apple relay address), an account ID, your sign-in provider identifier, and sign-in timestamps.
- Your content: journey names; moment titles, dates, ages, feelings and descriptions; and the times they were created, edited or deleted, so your devices can merge changes.
- Photos and videos you attach, plus small preview images. Photos are uploaded as a resized copy (up to 2560 pixels on the long side). Videos are uploaded as recorded, up to 50 MB each. Larger videos stay only on the device they were added from.
When you first sign in on a device, journeys already on that device are added to your account. The built-in example journey is never uploaded.
How we use it: only to sign you in and to store and sync your content across your devices. We do not use your content for advertising, analytics, profiling or training AI models. We do not access your content except when needed to keep the service running or when the law requires it.
1.3 Where it is stored and how it is protected
- Synced data is stored with Supabase (database, private file storage and sign-in), hosted on Amazon Web Services in the United States. If you live outside the U.S., your data is transferred to and processed in the U.S.
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest by our providers.
- Access is restricted to your account. Database row-level security and per-account private file folders mean only your signed-in account can read or change your data. Photos and videos are never public. The app fetches them through short-lived private links.
- Our providers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, device and app version, and request times) for security and reliability. We do not use them to track you.
1.4 Photos, camera and microphone
Connect the Dots asks for photo library access only when you choose to attach something, and it reads only the items you pick. It uses the camera and microphone only when you choose to take a photo or record a video for a moment. Selected items are copied into the app's storage on your device, and they are uploaded only if you are signed in. You can turn these permissions off at any time in your device Settings.
1.5 Print / Save as PDF
When you print a journey, the app builds the page on your device and opens your operating system's print sheet. To style the printed page, the device loads two typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which means Google receives a standard web request (including your IP address) at that moment. No journey content is sent to Google or to us. Printing, sharing or saving the PDF afterward is handled by your operating system and the apps you choose.
1.6 Deleting your data
- Delete a moment or journey: it is removed from all your signed-in devices. On our servers its text, dates and attached files are erased right away. A minimal deletion record (identifiers, timestamps and the moment's feeling label) is kept so your other devices know to remove it, and it is deleted along with your account.
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Account → Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, all synced journeys and moments, and all uploaded photos and videos from our servers. You can choose whether to keep a local copy on your device. Any copies in our providers' encrypted backups expire on their normal schedule (typically within 7 days).
- By email: write to privacy@voltedlife.com and ask us to delete your account. If you used Hide My Email, tell us the relay address shown in the app's Account screen. We will verify the request and confirm when deletion is complete.
2. Quiet Salah
Quiet Salah silences your phone when you arrive at a mosque.
2.1 Location: it stays on your device
- Quiet Salah includes a built-in directory of U.S. mosque locations (from OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps). It does not download mosque data or anything else from a server.
- With your permission, including "Always" or background location, the app reads your current position on your device. It uses that position to pick the nearby mosques from the built-in list and registers them as geofences (small circles around each mosque) with your phone's operating system. When you enter or leave one, the operating system notifies the app on your device.
- Quiet Salah has no server, no account and no analytics, and the app does not send your location to us or to any third party. We never receive your location, your visits or your settings.
- Geofencing itself is performed by your phone's location services: Apple Core Location on iPhone and Google Play services on Android. Those system services operate under Apple's and Google's own privacy policies and the location settings on your device.
2.2 What is stored on your device
- Your settings, and any suggested mosques you have confirmed, in an on-device database.
- The current "at a mosque" status and the mosque's name (used by Shortcuts on iPhone).
- On Android: the list of nearby mosques being monitored, the last position used to choose them, your previous Do Not Disturb setting (so it can be restored), and a short log of the last 50 arrival and departure events.
This data never leaves your device through the app. Deleting the app removes it.
2.3 Notifications, Do Not Disturb and Shortcuts
- Notifications are created locally on your device ("silence ON / OFF"). The app does not use push notifications and does not register your device with any notification server.
- Android: with your permission (Do Not Disturb access), the app turns on Do Not Disturb when you arrive and restores your previous setting when you leave.
- iPhone: apps can't change Focus directly. Quiet Salah offers Shortcuts actions ("Enter Mosque," "Leave Mosque," "Am I at a Mosque?") and an arrival notification that a Shortcut you set up can respond to by turning Do Not Disturb on or off. These run on your device.
- Links in the app (for example, map attribution pages or Shortcut download links) open in your browser or the Shortcuts app only when you tap them.
2.4 Map data credits
Mosque data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL 1.0) (openstreetmap.org/copyright). Suggested mosques are derived from Overture Maps Foundation Places data (docs.overturemaps.org/attribution).
2.5 Deleting your data
All Quiet Salah data is on your device. Turn off monitoring in the app and delete the app to remove it. You can revoke location, notification and Do Not Disturb permissions at any time in your device Settings.
3. Our website (voltedlife.com)
voltedlife.com is a simple static website. It does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, advertising tags or any other tracking technology, and it does not load fonts, scripts or other content from third-party servers. The site has no forms and no accounts.
Like any website, the servers of our web hosting provider automatically receive the standard technical information needed to deliver pages to your browser (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested), and may keep it briefly in server logs for security and reliability. We do not use this information to identify, profile or track you.
If you email us, we receive your email address, any name you include and your message, and we use them only to reply.
4. Service providers (third parties)
We do not sell or share personal information. The only companies involved are providers that run services for us or that are part of your device platform:

8. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the Effective date above, and we will update the in-app privacy information and App Store disclosures before any change in how data is handled takes effect.
